There was a fire around 4 yesterday morning in Pago Pago close to the Congregational Church of Jesus in Samoa.
The one story building was rented out to several tenants.
The building was still standing after firemen finished putting out the blaze however the contents could not be saved.
Occupants of buildings next to the burning house were told to vacate their buildings as a precautionary measure.
One of the tenants who lived in an adjacent building, was watching the blaze when he collapsed and died.
The man, said to be in his late 50’s was a fisherman from Samoa, and worked on the MV Jeanine.
