Governor Lolo Moliga is expected to attend the next meeting of the Polynesian Leaders Group to be held in Apia the first week of September .
The meeting was supposed to be held in Tonga however with the Pacific Island Forum meeting being hosted in Apia, Prime Minister Tuilaepa has convinced PLG to have the meeting in Samoa, ahead of the PIF meeting, September 5-8.
The 2017 PLG meeting is scheduled for September 4.
The Polynesian Leaders Group was founded in 2011 and has as members American Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Niue, Tokelau, Cook Islands, and French Polynesian.
Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga represented American Samoa at last year’s PLG meeting held in French Polynesia, where air service, trade, and climate change were central topics of discussion.
