The Environmental Health Division of DOH is warning groups selling roadside BBQ’s that they must obtain health cards and permits, or they will be cited.

Administrator Aileen Solaita said they’re finding that some church organizations who have been warned before are still doing their BBQ sales without the requisite permits and health cards. She said health inspectors are checking on BBQ and other food plate sales, and will be issuing citations. In addition, their food coolers can be confiscated.

Solaita also advised businesses that sell food to obtain 2024 health permits. She said out of 500 businesses in this category, about 100 have yet to renew their permits. DOH will be conducting inspections and those without valid permits will be fined.
