Pacific Air Charters Inc. (PACI) has announced that an experienced airline industry figure, Paul Casey has been added to its Board of Directors.

A press release from PACI says Casey has 40 years of public and private sector senior management and leadership experience across a variety of complex industries, including airlines, tourism, software, hotels, and early-stage investing in start-up companies.

Casey began his business career in aviation with Continental Airlines, where he served as Vice President of Continental Airlines International Division and as Chairman and CEO of Continental Air Micronesia. Later he became Vice Chairman, President, and CEO for Hawaiian Airlines and CEO of island Air in Hawaii.

He also served for several years as CEO of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Casey was CEO of Onemednet, a medical data company, and now serves on the company’s board after retiring in 2023.

PACI, owned by Papaalii Alofa and Leota Wanda Alofa has operated as a Part 135 on-demand air charter service in Hawaii since 2003.

Though operations are currently limited to military contracts and private flights for the Alofa family and their businesses, PACI expects to resume on-demand charters in Hawaii in the next few weeks, followed by on-demand charter flights within American Samoa. Future plans include scheduled service from Honolulu to Hawaii’s neighbor islands, as well as scheduled service within American Samoa.

PACI operates five aircraft owned by Pago Wings LLC, which is also owned by the Alofa family. Pago Wings does not operate any flights; all flights are operated by Pacific Air Charters.

The company employs about 25 people, mostly part-time pilots in Hawaii. There are currently three employees in American Samoa. The number of employees will grow significantly, especially in American Samoa, as the business plan continues to be activated.
