The LBJ Hospital Dialysis Clinic is taking over the treatment of patients from Hope Dialysis Clinic. The private clinic closed its doors yesterday.

On Friday LBJ CEO Dr Akapusi Ledua issued a notice for Hope Dialysis patients to report to the LBJ Dialysis Clinic Saturday to conduct blood tests, so that they can transition for treatment at the LBJ Dialysis clinic.

Hope Dialysis Center had more than 40 patients.

Reports from the hospital said that many of those patients did show up for tests but not all.

The blood tests were carried out Saturday and Sunday.

The LBJ CEO also informed employees of Hope Dialysis to report to the LBJ Hospital Human Resources Office today, Monday July 1st, to begin the process to transition to the LBJ Dialysis Unit. Some of the Hope Dialysis nurses used to work at LBJ before.

The Hope Dialysis Center had advised all patients in May that it would be closing June 30 as it was no longer receiving Medicaid funds which subsidized the cost of dialysis treatment.
