The Fourth Regular Session of the 38th Legislature will open next Monday and the main topic on the agenda is ASG’s proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget.

Fono leaders have stated that they will open for just the first week of the session then take a break until August.

Many lawmakers are delegates to the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa biennial conference. The church committee meetings will begin the week of July 14.

Also it’s the intention of the Fono leaders to preserve legislative days to review the budget and extend the session to allow lawmakers an opportunity to sit in the new Fono building before they take leave at the end of their tenures.

The chambers for the new Fono building were to be completed in June however the contractor informed Fono leaders that this is delayed to November.
