The American Samoa Telecommunications Authority (ASTCA) and the University of Hawaii at Manoa are hosting the 2024 American Samoa STEAM Symposium, to be held at the Lee Auditorium and Ocean Center from July 10 to July 12.

With the theme, “Advancing STEM Education & Workforce Development in American Samoa,” the event will bring together educators, industry professionals, and community leaders, dedicated to the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in education.

Over the course of three days, participants will take part in enriching sessions, interactive workshops, and networking events that promote STEAM education and workforce development specific to American Samoa.

The symposium will provide and equip educators with hands-on experience, local relevance to workforce needs, the latest theories in STEM, facilitate networking opportunities, and develop actionable strategies.

ASTCA CEO Chuck Leota says, “Following the successful launch of the first-ever Drone virtual camp in American Samoa, ASTCA is excited to continue supporting these initiatives, which align with our mission. We are proud to bring these opportunities and make them available to our local community.”

Other partners contributing to the symposium are Oceania CDN, the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa (NMSAS), the STEAM Education Initiative (SEI) Network, and the American Samoa Government (ASG).

Early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
