A dedication ceremony on Tuesday celebrated the completion of the Olomoana access road in Aoa.

The project involved the paving of a two-lane asphalt road with a total length of 7,620 linear feet. The contractor was Paramount Builders and the cost was $871,000 funded by the U.S Department of Interior, Office of Insular Affairs.

Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga, in his remarks reflected on the challenges faced by the
village of Aoa in traveling to nearby areas. “In the past, residents of Aoa had to
walk and climb mountains to reach neighboring villages. On rainy days, passengers often had to push buses due to the poor road conditions. With the completion of the new access road, transportation will be much easier, showcasing the resilience of the Aoa community, who never faltered in their belief and effort to make this day a reality.”

The Governor reassured the high chiefs of Aoa and residents, “We will do our utmost to fulfill every request received by the government. While it may take time, we are committed to addressing the needs of our people.”

He concluded by expressing appreciation to the government agencies, private contractors, and Aoa village for their contributions that made the successful completion of this project possible.
