The farm part of the Trade and Farm Fair for Flag Day, hasn’t been very impressive.

Missing are members of the newly formed Farmers Cooperative.

Less than a dozen farmers displayed their produce on the first day of the fair Monday .

According to Governor Lolo Moliga, the farmers co-operative wanted the government to pay for all of the produce and agricultural goods that they would have on display if they were to be part of the event.

Lolo said he couldn’t believe the proposal and flatly rejected it.

He said the government was giving the farmers an opportunity to display and sell their harvests and all they had to do was bring their crops to Utulei while the government pays for the tents, tables, chairs and others.

The governor did not hide his disappointment with the lack of support and patriotism from the farmers co-op.

He was thankful to the handful of farmers who are taking part and is happy they are selling their crops and making money at the fair.
