Tafuna Cadet Airlifted to Samoa

A student and JROTC cadet of Tafuna High School was medivaced to Samoa yesterday on a Polynesian Airlines charter.

According to Deputy Director of Education Faaui Vaitautolu, the cadet was injured during a JROTC event last week and was admitted to the LBJ Hospital.

No details were available on the injuries and condition of the student but according to the deputy director, the student’s parents made a request to the Governor’s Office for assistance in transporting their son, a citizen of Samoa, for treatment there.

Vaitautolu acknowledged Governor Lolo Moliga’s quick response to the parents’, request which resulted in the fast arrangements for the charter, which is being paid by the Department of Education.

Vaitautolu said the Polynesian Airlines plane took the boy and his parents to Apia yesterday.
