Eleven Graduate from Kanana-fou Theological Seminary

Eleven students graduated Saturday with Bachelors of Divinity from the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa Theological Seminary Kanana-fou.

Parents, children and friends of the graduates, CCCAS pastors and congregations to which the graduates belong packed the Kanana-fou church Ua Taunuu for the 29th commencement exercises for the theological college.

The wives of the graduates also undertook studies and 8 were presented certificates for women theological studies.

Two of the seminarians also successfully passed ministry studies.

The students who were conferred Bachelors of Divinity are Lancaster D.P Allen, Simeona I. Ape, Rex E Gatoloai, Mikey J. Kelemete, Tulafono Maga, Li’ava’a S. Moevao, Rev. Sioriai Opeta, Peni Sefo, Kitasi A Sioni, Fa’atoia Tufele and Safue L. Ulufaleilupe.

Li’ava’a Moevao was awarded the CCCAS scholarship based on his academic achievement and his involvement in several activities while pursuing his Bachelors.

Moevao is a retired police officer from the LAPD .

Pearly Malepeai Moevao and Sami Malo Fanoga received Certificates of Ministry Studies.

Rev. Dr. Moreli Niuatoa, President of the Seminary said one of the important accomplishments for Kanana fou is the visitation from the South Pacific Association of Theological Schools (SPATS) to evaluate the two programs offered by the school.

He announced that the Kanana Fou Theological Seminary has been accredited by SPATS for another 6 years .

The graduation on Saturday precedes committee meetings of the CCCAS leading up to the general assembly which begins Sunday.
