Talofa Airways is awaiting the green light from the Tongan Civil Aviation Authority to begin flights to Tonga.

In the meantime the owners are pleased with the response from both Samoa to their inter island service.

Maria Westerland Hunter says considering we are in the slow travel season, the response from travelers is pleasing.

She says travelers like the fact that their two aircraft are new, clean and comfortable.

Business travelers say the airline offers an ideal alternative for inter Samoa travel.

The airplane is new, its fast and comfortable.

For the first two weeks since the airline inaugurated its Samoa -American Samoa service, some got a kick out of having the CEO Toleafoa Jeffrey Hunter greet and talk with them during the 18 minute flight from Fagalii to Tafuna or vice versa.

The smallness of the 7 seater aircraft and the limited space on board is what some travelers don’t like.

Talofa Airways has received a lot of inquiries for charters within the Pacific.

And it’s been asked to fly a few to Manu’a  but for now only Polynesian Airlines is approved for Manu’a flights due to cabotage restriction.

Westerlund Hunter says they have a charter from Apia this weekend.

Talofa has already filed an application to start flights to Tonga and is awaiting a decision from the Tongan authorities.
