Samoa Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele  says the announced buyout of BlueSky by Fijian company Amalgamated Telecom Holdings, is still being reviewed by officials of Samoa who are knowledgeable about telecommunications.

Its been more than seven months since the owners of Bluesky, Amper SA, first made known that it was in negotiations with ATH for the sale of BlueSky, which includes operations in American Samoa, Samoa, and the Cook Islands.

Amper later announced that it had accepted a binding offer of $79 million from ATH.

In an interview with KHJ News yesterday, the Samoa PM said that he has reservations about the Fijian company, ATH.

In American Samoa, Governor Lolo also appointed a group to get more information about the buy out of BlueSky and there have been visits by Blue Sky’s parent company Amper and the Fijian company ATH to the territory.

KHJ News questions sent to the Acting CEO of BlueSky Pacific, Toleafoa Douglas Creevey a week ago, have not been answered.
