The founder and Executive Chairman of Orphaned Starfish Foundation (OSF), Andy Stein and wife Dilia have returned after two years of establishing the Department of Youth and Women’s Affairs’ computer laboratory.
The Steins were part of the Fa’aSamoa Initiative led by Pittsburgh Steelers’ Troy Polamalu and wife Theodora.
During the last FaaSamoa Camp two years ago the Steins donated computers for DYWA’s computer lab., making American Samoa the first country in the South Pacific to benefit from the Orphaned Starfish Foundation.

The couple said that American Samoa is unique in its own way and they are very much impressed with the hospitality received here in the Territory unlike anywhere they have been to.
More importantly they have seen the determination of young ones to make use of opportunities provided such as those through the Orphaned Starfish Foundation.

The Foundation is dedicated to helping orphans, victims of abuse, victims of trafficking and at-risk youth break their cycles of abuse and poverty through computer based education, job training and job placement assistance.
OSF also funds the construction and operation of vocational training facilities including funding for furnishing, required equipment, teacher salaries, job placement services and scholarships for high education.
The Steins returned home Friday after spending a few days with children participating in DWYA summer activities.
