
A teacher specialist from the headquarters of the Close Up Foundation in Washington D.C., Mr Michael Kofi Boetang has been to American Samoa three times as part of the annual forum of high school students under the Close Up banner.
He was back here this week for the 7th Close Up Forum in American Samoa with 80 top students from private and public high schools as participants.
During the three day forum, the student researched topical issues, deliberated on them and draft legislation on those discussion topics.
Mr Kofi shared with the students that he landed an internship in the US Congress thanks to the late Congresswoman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin.
In his remarks at the opening on Tuesday he stressed the importance of education to equip our young people to deal with the political turmoil of today,
