Miss American Samoa Matauaina Toomalatai was the second contestant to the Miss Pacific Islands to arrive in Nadi, Fiji where the new regional queen will be crowned this Saturday night, Fiji time.
Fiji is one day ahead of us.
Miss American Samoa, accompanied by Executive Director of the American Smaoa Visitors Bureau David Vaeafe , MASI Inc President and chaperone for Matauaina , and Ms Eleitino Tuiasosopo of the Visitors Bureau left for Fiji Sunday.
She showcased her preparations at a function at the Tradewinds Hotel the night before and attended a church service at her EFKAS in Onenoa Sunday morning.
Vaeafe says they were met at Nadi Airport by the current Miss Pacific Islands, Annie Dunne.
The first contestant to arrive in Nadi was Miss Solomon Island.
Miss American Samoa has been settling in, going to the gym each day with Eleitino Tuiasosopo, practicing and preparing mentally for the competition.
Yesterday the group from American Samoa visited the outdoor venue for the pageant, Prince Charles Park in Nadi City.
Today the rest of the MASI team begin arriving as the official Pageant Program begins tomorrow, December 1 until the crowning on December 9.
