KVZK-TV returns to air

The government TV Station, KVZK-TV, is now back on air after power was restored to the transmitter site at Mt Alava this afternoon.

The TV station lost transmission on the early morning of Friday, February 9 when Cyclone Gita’s damaging winds swept through the Samoan islands.

Its taken crews more than a week to clear the path to the Alava site because of fallen trees, debris and muddy soil before an ASPA crew could check the wiring in the facility before turning on the juice.

KVZK TV staffer, Kaisia Felise speaking on behalf of Director Tuimavave Tauapai Laupola thanked the public for their patience while the government owned station was off and also expressed appreciation to all those who helped get the station back on the air.

KHJ Radio’s 93.1 signal also returned to air when power was restored to Mt Alava today.

We have been broadcasting on 93.7 and V103 via our main transmitter site at Mt. Olotele.
