Miss Pacific Islands Matauaina Toomalatai is in New Zealand this week attending one of the biggest festivals featuring Pacific Island entertainment, food, fashion, business and other things Pacific in Aotearoa ..the annual Pasifika Festival in Auckland.
Matauauina was invited to the festival as Miss Pacific Islands to support the event and also promote American Samoa as a tourist destination.
It’s her first time in New Zealand and in between appearances at the festival Matauaina is doing the interview circuit with the various Pacific island media outlets in Auckland. 
Yesterday she was on three radio stations and topped off the day attending a benefit dinner for people with disabilities.
Today she’s spreading the word on what American Samoa has to offer visitors with more media interviews.
The American Samoa Visitors Bureau has targeted not just Kiwi tourists in its tourism promotion efforts but also expatriate Samoans in New Zealand.
Matauauina is in Aucklaand with the President of Miss American Samoa Inc Mrs Meafou Imo.
She’ll hit the ground running when she returns home, lining things up for her Easter Egg hunt on Easter Saturday next week.
