For golfer Tony Finau to say he has had an eventful week is probably the understatement of the 2018 Masters which concluded in the weekend at Augusta.
And what a week the American Samoan/Tongan has had!
In the pre tournament Par 3 competition he shot a hole-in-one and turned his ankle while celebrating.
Then he just matter of factly “popped” it back in place and started the tournament the next day.
And to add to the excitement he scored in the 60s to be equal second at the end of the second day.
He went on to finish the tournament in the top 10.
Putting his feat into perspective, Tony Finau ended up ahead of the likes of one Tiger Woods who could only manage an equal 32nd placing.
Add to that Germany’s former Masters winner Bernard Langer who came in at 38th with other former Masters winners Fred Couples and PhilMickelson.
And another former Masters winner in Vijay Singh of Fiji managed 49th place.
As Finau tweeted; “What a week, top 10 in my debut, hole in one, 2 rounds in the 60s and a 2019 Masters invite!”
“I believe we find out most about who we are through adversity.
“Thanks for the well wishes all week!”
