It is often said that these days one’s success in the entertainment industry is measured by the number of followers your performances can garner on social media.

If that’s the case, then Samoan hip hop dancer Lance Savali is well on his way to stamping his mark as a hip-hop dancer supporting such superstars as Chris Brown, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and more recently Beyonce.

He currently has more than 30,000 followers on Instagram and that number is rising steadily.

Savali in in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, “I never wanted to give up because I wanted to show the people back home and everyone who told me I couldn’t just be a dancer or who said I need a ‘real job’ that it is possible if you have the right drive and work ethic and knowledge.”

He has had a helping hand as he embarked on a trip that would soon take him to the top of hip-hop dancing.

After joining a hip-hop dance crew, he was invited by superstar Samoan choreographer Parris Goebel

He attributes that move as being the moment when he began taking his dance career seriously.

And his biggest break came after receiving a text message saying that Chris Brown was holding auditions for dancers, he booked a flight from New Zealand to Los Angeles to gamble for his dream career.

The day after the audition, he was booked for the Between the Sheets tour with Chris Brown, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Lance does have a history of dance in his family, his father being a member of a break dance crew back in the 1980’s.

The 26 year old now lives in Los Angeles, no doubt dancing all the way to the bank!
