The Tanoa Samoa label, the brainchild of one of American Samoa’s most enterprising business couples, Aaron and Cindy Forsgren, is expanding to Honolulu.
The couple and their children are moving to Hawaii next month to open a Tanoa Store near Alamoana Center.
This follows the opening of a Tanoa Store in Auckland, New Zealand and before that, a store in Samoa.
The Forsgren Family owns the Laufou Center in Nu’uuli and operates a number of businesses including Forsgren Store, Carl’s Jr., Sports Domain and Koko Bean.
The businesses employ about 160 people.
Aaron, the youngest of the children of Anders and Leone Forsgren, says the need to diversify is crucial now more than ever as the future of the territory’s economy is wrought with uncertainties.
And that is the reason why he and his wife, with the blessing of his parents, are expanding to Hawaii.
The Tanoa Store will be centrally located in one of Honolulu’s main shopping areas.
