The Samoa cabinet has terminated the services of suspended Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (MJCA), Papalii John Taimalelagi.

PApalii was handed a one month suspension by Cabinet last month following six charges laid by the Public Service Commission (PSC) against him

The PSC charges are in relation to the alleged removal of court files from court premises and alleged inappropriate behavior towards female employees.

One of the charge sheets leaked through social media states that Papalii between 2016 and 2017 unlawfully authorized the release of original Lands and Titles Court files relating to ‘Suafa Ainuu -Sapapalii’ and ‘Suafa Faumuina – Lepea.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele confirmed to Global News Samoa, an online news service based in Apia that the recommendation to terminate Papalii was made by the Public Service Commission and was endorsed by Cabinet.
