Acting Governor Lemanu attends Samoa’s Independence celebrations

Attorney General Talauega Eleasalo Ale is acting governor as of today.

This is because Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga, who has been acting governor, leaves for Apia to attend Samoa’s 57th Independence Day celebrations.

Lemanu is accompanied by Mrs. Ella Mauga, Chief of Staff Fiu Johnny Saelua and Mrs. Saelua, and Lemanu’s secretary Sally Faumuina.

Other off island dignitaries attending are the Ulu o Tokelau, Kelihiano Kalolo and the Prime Minister of Tuvalu Enele Sosene Sopoaga.

The Independence Day celebrations will be held on Saturday, June 1st, Samoa time and there’ll be a public holiday, on Monday, June 3rd.

An Independence Church Service will be held tomorrow evening at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Mulivai.
