A former Special Assistant to the Director of Public Works Luki Tuitasi was removed last month from his position under orders from Governor Lolo Moliga.
Tuitasi oversaw many of the projects under Special Programs administered by the Governor’s Office as well as emergency projects here and in Manu’a.
When asked, Governor Lolo Moliga confirmed that Tuitasi is no longer with Public Works and said that many projects which he was in charge of had not been carried out.
The governor said that Tuitasi is being hired as part of Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga’s staff.
Tuitasi is often seen with the Lt. Governor during his inspections and visits around the island.
When asked if there’s a replacement for Tuitasi at Public Works the governor said no.
He said the staff whom Tuitasi supervised seem to be performing quite well and are completing the jobs that should have been finished a while ago.
