Pacific Island Foundation presents….

turtle-shark

One of the most famous legends of American Samoa, that of the Turtle and the Shark, will be told in dance at the ASCC Multi Purpose Center this Saturday.

It’s a production by non-profit organization Pacific Island Foundation and the founder of Le Tiumasalasala Dance Theater in Samoa, Ms Eterei Maiava Sakele.

For the past three weeks dancers aged 13-26 have been rehearsing diligently under the tutorship of Ms Maiava Salele and dance colleague Ben Lelevaga.

The performance is a mesh of contemporary and traditional dance routines, which according to the choreographer while complex, was easily captured by the talented dancers.
