The Alpha Epsilon Mu Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society at the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) holds an induction ceremony during each spring and fall semester to welcome some of the best and the brightest academic achievers into its ranks.
The fall induction ceremony, aptly themed “40 years of honor and excellence at ASCC”, marked the 40th anniversary of the chapter’s presence at ASCC since 1979.
Sixteen inductees were ushered into membership and welcomed by returning members and chapter advisors.
The fall 2019 inductees include Accounting majors Wendy Soaga, Aofagaimanu Ta’afua and Isalei Afioa’e; Liberal Arts majors Taavili Amosa, Faatuputala F. Fiame, Shania Togamamao Wilson, Karallyn E. Fitisone, Monique Hollister, Anncelitta Akenese Meli and Tiarasina Roberts; Nursing major Athena Laupola; Civil Engineering major Fiailoa Pati; Pre-Law major Raquel Roslyn Mamea; Political Science major Latoya Mauigoa; and double-majors Isaac Misa (Liberal Arts/Automotive Engineering) and Francella Pola Nau (Liberal Arts/Health Science).
Mr. Daniel Helsham, an ASCC graduate and former PTK member who currently serves as Media Specialist at the College’s Agriculture, Community and Natural Resources (ACNR)/Land Grant division, provided the keynote address for the ceremony.
Congratulations to the new members and happy 40th anniversary to Phi Theta Kappa at ASCC.
