For the first time in 4 years, the New England Patriots are not in the Super Bowl.
The Bill Belichkik and Tom Brady tandum takes a seat on the couch as another former dynasty will try to return to glory this Sunday.
The 49ers under the helm quarterback and once heir to the New England throne Jimmy Garapolo will try and win the Bay Area’s first Super Bowl title in a quarter of a century.
The last Super Bowl win for the 49ers came in a punishing defeat against the San Diego Chargers back in 1995.
Back then the heir apparent was Steve Young with his one and only win under head coach George Seiffert.
It will be up to Jimmy G to pick up where Steve Young left off, while the Chiefs have only one Super Bowl victory to date under Len Dawson and the late Hank Stram and that was 50 years ago, back in 1970!
Chiefs have a high powered offense, but the 49ers defense is favored to keep Patrick Mahomes on ice.
It should be an exciting contest as for the 2nd time in ten years, the 49ers are in the Super Bowl, they lost to the Ravens in 2013 after the famous power outage in New Orleans.
Football fans can see the game live on Fox at 12:30 this Sunday or head out to watch parties at DDW and the Equator Restaurant.
