A woman is now at the helm of the ASG Immigration Office.
Mrs. Fagamalama Fualaau is believed to be the first female immigration chief in the territory’s history.
She has been Deputy Chief of Immigration since 2013 and replaces Peseta Dennis Fuimaono who headed the Immigration Division for the two terms of the Lolo/Lemanu Administration.
Mrs. Fualaau belongs to a small group of women who have occupied seats in the Fono.
She served a few terms as House representative for Aua.
She also worked in the Dept. of Public Safety for many years.
The Office of Immigration is a division of the Office of Legal Affairs (the Attorney General’s Office).
