This will be the last month that McDonald’s Restaurant in Fagatogo will be opened.

At the close of business on September 30, the Fagatogo fast food joint will close down permanently.

Tautolo Charlie Tautolo CEO and owner of American Samoa 2000 inc. which owns the McDonald’s franchise announced the closing today.

“The Tafuna restaurant will remain open and all of our customers, old and new, can continue to enjoy McDonald’s menu from 5am to midnight,” said Tautolo.

Asked why the Fagatogo restaurant is being closed, Carol Tautolo said “the license has expired and will not be renewed.”

The Fagatogo branch employed 38 people and most, if not all, will be moved to the Tafuna restaurant.

She said some of the employees started applying for other jobs when the closure was announced internally.

Asked what the Fagatogo building will be used for she said it will be “repurposed for another business.”

Tautolo Charlie Tautolo expresses his sincere appreciation and thank you to customers and employees alike, “for your loyalty and support throughout the years and hopes to continue seeing you at the Tafuna restaurant.”
