Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga didn’t sound pleased with the attendance at the Covid-19 Task Force meetings.
He issued a memo today saying that participation at the group’s meetings has dwindled in the past month.
“Please be reminded that Covid-19 remains a threat and we are charged with keeping our territory safe; it is a responsibility we must take seriously,” wrote Lemanu.
He said, “To ensure maximum participation, meetings have zoom capability to allow members to access remotely. We must forge ahead and continue our work. The risk is far too great to falter now.”
There are more than 50 members of the Covid-19 Task Force including ASG directors and employees, federal representatives, lawmakers and members of the private sector.
Unlike the task force under the former administration the current one does mot pay stipends for members. The Task Force meets weekly on Mondays.
The Chairman, Lt Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale is currently off island and Vice Chair Attorney General Fainuulelei Falefatu Ala’ilima Utu has taken over the helm until Talauega’s return.
