As of last night, Attorney General Fainuulelei Alailima Utu is Acting Governor.
Lt. Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale, who was Acting Governor since Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga left the island Monday of last week, traveled off-island last night.
A memo, Talauega issued yesterday, said, “Attorney General Fainuulelei Alailima Utu is appointed Acting Governor upon my departure from the territory on Monday, September 26.”
“This appointment will terminate upon my return to the territory.”
KHJ News has been reliably informed that Talauega is attending a family funeral, and will be away for one week.
