The CEO of the Samoa Tourism Authority says, their sales mission in American Samoa this week, will be the first of many.
Pativaine Petaia Tevita conceded that their timing was not the best arriving here on Election Day, but she’s positive of what lies ahead from collaboration with their counterparts at the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.
It’s not just bonafide tourists that the tourism sector of Samoa is trying to attract, it’s also targeting Samoans living off island.
The CEO said, they have special promotions for Samoans in New Zealand and Australia, and its possible to extend the same to American Samoa.

Along with officials of the Samoa Tourism Authority was Miss Samoa, Haylani Kuruppu, and representatives of Amoa Resort, Amanaki, Lava, Taumeasina, Return to Paradise, Tivoli Hotel and Le Vasa Hotel. The Unit Trust of Samoa was also represented.
The STA acknowledged the assistance of Director Taimalelagi Minnie and the American Samoa Visitors Bureau, as well as Director Petti Matila and the Department of Commerce.
