Lady Samoa IV launched in American Samoa

Attorney General Fainuulelei Alailima Utu represented Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga at the launching of the Lady Samoa IV, at the main dock last Friday evening. He said, when there’s a new development in Samoa, American Samoa also celebrates. Likewise, when American Samoa achieves, Samoa will share the joy. “And this is because we are one family,” said the AG.

He thanked the Government of Samoa for the new Lady Samoa vessel which will be used for travel and trade.

Samoa’s Minister of Transport, Olo Fiti Vaai thanked the leaders and people of American Samoa for welcoming the latest vessel in Samoa’s fleet. He paid tribute to Port Director Christopher King, calling him a good Samaritan who always rendered his help when called upon.

Secretary of Samoan Affairs Mauga Tasi Asuega was given the honor of cutting the ribbon before guests got to tour, the Japanese funded vessel which will be used for travel between the two Samoa.

Chairman of the Samoa Shipping Corporation, Tagaloa Faafouina Sua, told KHJ News that they will announce the start of the Lady Samoa IV’s trips to Pago Pago, as soon as the schedule is finalized.
