REAL ID Cards cannot be used for travel between Pago Pago and Honolulu.
Hawaiian Airlines Local Manager Tuli Fruean says they’re seeing more and more passengers presenting REAL IDs as travel documents, “however, REAL IDs are not acceptable as travel documents as of now.”
American Samoa is considered international by US Customs and Border Patrol and, therefore, the only documents that are accepted for entry into the US are:
- Valid US passport
- Valid Certificate of Identity
- US birth certificate with a valid ID or
- Active duty military ID with orders
