
New Zealand-based Samoan actor, Oscar Kightley, is thankful that he finally got to visit Tutuila over the weekend.
He was here for a private showing of, “Next Goal Wins,” a movie about the American Samoa national soccer team’s redemption from its humiliating 31-0 loss to Australia in 2001.
Kightley, who also starred in “Sione’s Wedding,” and is the creator of a hit TV series Bro Town, plays Tavita Taomua, the Executive Director of the Football Federation of American Samoa.

Also here for the private showing of Next Goal Wins on Saturday at the Nu’uuli Cinemas were award winning writer and director Taika Waititi and co-writer Iain Morris.
The film will hit theaters in November.
