The Fono will not be holding their final five days of the 38th Legislature in the new Fono building.

House members were informed by Speaker Savali Talavou Ale this week that after a follow-up visit of the building last Friday with the architect and project manager Mark Lively, the Fono leaders determined that the new Maota Fono is far from ready.

The House and Senate will resume on December 2-6 to conclude the session and they will meet in their current chambers.

Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean had been adamant that before the current Legislature concludes and some senators leave the Fono, they will have a chance to take their seats in the new building whether or not it is completed.
