The Fagatogo market place which was closed Thursday because of unsanitary conditions in the bathrooms, has been re-opened.
Acting Chief of the Environmental Health Division of the Department of Health Aileen Solaita said the bathrooms have been cleaned, and the water pressure for the building has been boosted. “We gave them time after an initial inspection early Friday morning and when our inspectors checked the bathrooms again, they were in satisfactory condition. They have been cleaned up.”
DOH sent inspectors to the market Thursday after receiving complaints about the foul stench from the bathrooms. Solaita said the toilets were filthy and clogged up.
Farmers and other vendors selling at the market were pleased with the re-opening, as Friday is their busiest sales day.
