Memo names Ta’aaga as Acting Commissioner

The appointment of High Talking Chief Ta’aga Saite Moliga as Acting Commissioner of Public Safety was announced in a January 14 memo from Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula.

Taaga is a former senator and member of the House of Representatives, and has retired from the Department of Public Safety as a commander. Posts that he held in his 30 years at DPS include warden of the Territorial Correctional Facility, head of the Marine Patrol Unit, and Training Officer.

The Governor had, earlier, made an interim appointment naming Taase Sagapolutele as Acting Commissioner of Public Safety.
