People were already waiting in line long before the Office of Motor Vehicles opened Monday, as residents rushed to get their REAL ID cards and drivers licenses.
Lack of supplies due to non payment of bills was the reason why the issuance of REAL ID cards was suspended late last year.
The payments have been settled and OMV began issuing the REAL ID cards and drivers licenses Monday morning.
Commissioner of Public Safety Taaga Saite Moliga, who was at the OMV, said the process is still slow because the information has to be sent off island for verification and he asks for the public’s patience.
