Samoa’s Head of State Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Efi, Masiofo Filifilia, and Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi are confirmed to attend the inauguration of Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lt. Govenror Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Sialega Mauga next week.
The Governor’s Office says these are the only off island guests who have confirmed their attendance at the swearing in of the governor and lt governor on January 3rd.
The CEO of the Prime Ministers Office Agafili Shem is accompanying the delegation from Samoa.
Invitations were also sent to leaders and dignitaries from neighboring islands and Hawaii and the mainland but they have not confirmed.
Meanwhile Public Works crews are extending the Fagatogo Pavilion where the inauguration ceremonies will be held.
A Public Works official said they are extending the pavilion canopy so that guests seated at the front of the pavilion can be covered from the sun or rain.
The Governor’s Office plans to finalize the program for the inauguration by the end of today.
Ministers of the various church denominations will give the religious blessing, prayers and Bible readings and orators from the villages and districts of the governor and lt government will perform the traditional blessing.
A dinner at the Lee Auditorium to celebrate the start of the second term of Governor Lolo and Lt. Governor Lemanu is set for Tuesday evening at Lee Auditorium.
