A new school building for Laulii Elementary school was dedicated last Wednesday. At the same ceremony, ground was broken for a new multipurpose gym for the school.
4 Aces Construction, built the two story building at a cost of $1.7 million. It houses 9 classrooms and 2 restrooms.
4 Aces Construction will also build the school’s new gym.
Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga thanked Laulii village for allowing the government to build school facilities on village land.
He said, “Land is sacred for all of us, so I thank the village council, the fathers of Lauli’i for your foresight in working together with our government to build school buildings and a gymnasium for the future of American Samoa: our children.”
Lemanu added that, “It is not in high school or college that a child learns, it is in elementary school. That is why the government prioritizes building elementary schools, because this is where the children’s understanding of everything begins.”

(CCCAS) Lauli’i emphasized that a steady foundation for any child’s academic career begins at the elementary level. He added that, with the completion of the new school building, the future is brighter and the rewards are limitless for the children of Lauli’i.
