ASG is starting the new fiscal year with cost containment measures. A memo from Budget Director Catherine Saelua asks departments to submit their fiscal year plans with a cost containment of 10% in place. She said the primary goal is “that our government continue to operate within a balanced budget throughout the fiscal year.
Departments were asked to submit their quarterly allocations with the 10% withholding, no later than October 11.
The Budget Director also asked directors to obtain necessary standardized forms to properly process all transactions, such as travel requests, direct payment vouchers and personnel actions. She said her office will start bouncing back requests that are processed on non-ASG standardized forms.
