Three 8th grade students at Manulele Elementary School were injured when a ceiling fan fell on them during class. The incident happened on September 20.

The grandmother of one of the students said, up to now, neither the school nor the Department of Education has informed their family about the incident. But her grandson said he and another student were hit on the head, and a third student was hit on the arm.

“My grandson said he heard something fall, like a coin, and after that the ceiling fan dropped,” she said.

According to the grandmother, the school did not call the ambulance or take the injured students to hospital.

The boy’s mother took him to the hospital after he relayed what happened, but there was no notification from the school.

Calls to Manulele Tausala Elementary were not answered.
