The number of absentee ballots cast has reached 1,210 after poll workers, who will be overseeing the general election tomorrow, voted.
There are 80 off-island absentee ballots included in that count.
The Election Office will do its last check for off-island absentee ballots in the mail tomorrow afternoon.
At 8:30 this morning, an Election Office staffer left on a Samoa Airways flight to Manu’a with ballot boxes and ballot forms for the polling stations in Ta’u, Fitiuta, and the EOB in Ofu.
According to Deputy Election Commissioner Fiti Tavai, the poll workers for the election in Manu’a reside in Manu’a. They have undergone the training for poll workers conducted by the Election Office.
The absentee ballots for Manu’a will be counted with the ballots cast at the voting booths for Manu’a here on Tutuila, which is the Department of Youth and Women Affairs Center in Tafuna.
The ballot boxes for Tutuila and Aunuu will be leaving the Election Office around 4 tomorrow morning under police escort.
Polling places will open from 6am to 6pm, and the counting of ballots will be conducted at each polling booth with the gubernatorial election counted first, followed by the House of Representatives race, then the Congressional ballots and the final votes to be counted are ballots for the veto override referendum.
Team leaders will call in the results from the polling places to the Election Office and will be announced on KVZK-TV.
The Election Office reminds employers that election law provides that all eligible voters are allowed two hours to cast their ballots on election day.
The sale of alcohol is banned while polls are opened.

The church service for the team of Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga and Laapui Talauega Eleasalo Ale was held at the CCCAS in Matuu, Pulaalii Nikolao Pula and Pulu Ae Ae Jr. and their supporters worshipped at the CCCAS church in Fagatogo while the team of Vaitautolu Faafetai Iaulualo and Maefau Dr. Mary Lauagaia Taufetee held their prayer service at the CCCAS Church in Pavaiai.
