The American Samoa Department of Health proudly announces its World AIDS Day Awareness Program, featuring speakers Sina Farani, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and HIV/STI Administrator, and Faith Seiuli, Health Educator. This year’s program aims to raise awareness, educate the public, and foster solidarity in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Scheduled for Friday, December 1, 2024, the event will take place at the Department of Health Office in Tafuna, starting at 10:00 AM. The program highlights include:
- Informative Sessions: Insights into local HIV/STI trends, testing services, and prevention strategies presented by Sina Farani.
- Community Outreach: Practical tips on sexual health and community involvement, led by Faith Seiuli.
- Free Testing and Resources: On-site HIV/STI testing and educational materials.
- Candlelight Vigil: Honoring lives lost to HIV/AIDS and celebrating resilience and hope.
World AIDS Day serves as a global reminder of the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS. This year, the Department of Health emphasizes the theme, "Equity for All: A Future Free of Stigma", encouraging inclusivity and access to healthcare for all residents.
