A fire blazed through Plantation House in Alafua on Monday evening with firefighters managing to stop the spread of the fire to adjacent properties.
Samoa Observer reports University of the South Pacific students said the fire started after 6pm and soon spread.
Plantation House is a popular boutique designer shop with quality fashions, jewelry, and arts and crafts.
A family member of the owner said the fire started from the back of the property, the exact cause is still not known.
The owner of the property was still in a state of shock when approached by the newspaper and politely declined to comment on Monday night.
It is believed that the elderly owner was home and helped out by a family member when the fire broke out.
Samoa Fire and Emergency Services arrived at the scene soon after they received the call and worked tirelessly to douse the flames.
Electric Power Corporation staff were also quick to the scene to switch off electricity and prevent damage to the power lines.
