Representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services who conducted an on site visit of the LBJ Tropical Medical Center departed Thursday night.
CEO of the LBJ Hospital, Scott Anesi, said their exit interview with the two CMS officials covered the areas which they looked at including the Radiology Department and Dialysis Unit. He said the team is to provide a written report of their findings at a later time. “We wont know their findings until we see their report,” said Anesi.
The CMS officials were here for just over a week.
Their visit is to determine certification of the LBJ Hospital as a Medicare and Medicaid provider which entitles the hospital to bill the federal programs for treatment of patients. The last visit by CMS of the LBJ Hospital was in April of this year.
