One of the three inductees to the American Samoa National Olympic Committee’s Hall of Fame, ex- professional boxer George Tanoa, will have his trophy displayed at the American Samoa Red Cross Center in Tafuna.
Tanoa spends his free time volunteering for the local Red Cross serving as a night watchman and mentor to young volunteers interested in boxing.
Tanoa, who was a multi gold medalist in regional boxing tournaments was excited to share his induction trophy to the American Samoa Hall of Fame with his colleagues at the Red Cross Center.
Val Tuilefano, Manager of the local Red Cross says they are very proud of Tanoa’’s accomplishments.
He described Tanoa as a very humble and behind the scenes man who will go beyond the call of duty to help his fellow men.
