It was a proud moment for Argosy University and owners of the Ottoville Professional Building in Ottoville when the new two story structure that is now the home of the American Samoa campus of the  Hawaii- based university was dedicated this morning.

Argosy University takes up the whole bottom floor of the newest building in the territory, which according to Avamua Dave Haleck costs $5 million including site development.

Craig Construction, headed by Andrew Craig in partnership with Mr. Neil Annandale, built the new facility in 14 months.

Rev Fouvale Asiata of the CCCAS Matu’u prayed for God’s blessings on the staff and students who will use the building and Governor Lolo Moliga did the honor of cutting the ribbon.

The opening was witnessed by four officials from Argosy University Hawaii led by Director of  Administration Dr. Milagros Handel, alumni and students of the university.

Avamua Dave Haleck said his father Otto Haleck  had cultivated land that is now Ottoville and grew giant taro or taamu and pineapples there, with the hope that one day the acreage would become a gathering place for the territory.
Avamua reflected on the words of his late father when he returned home from college.
