It seems that Halloween this year may have brought palolo to our shores, if what has been posted on social media is anything to go by.
With not much to catch last year, some are saying that it was expected that this year will be big but others are surprised to get palolo after a few years of meager returns from early morning trips to net the traditional delicacy.
Those who ventured out in boats were richly rewarded and those who waited on shore at Alega, Fatu ma Futi , and around the airport were not disappointed either.
Social media posts from Samoa also show a bumper rising right around the country’s reefs.
And with the bumper harvest the price for palolo also went up dramatically in Samoa.
A full ice cream container was selling for about $US500 according to posts on social media.
Halloween celebrations continue this evening. Congresswoman Aumua Amata is again holding her annual Halloween bash at Tedi’s Fagatogo Square.
“I wish to invite all children and their parents to join us at 5:30pm to celebrate and be happy on this year’s Halloween,” she posted on her facebook page.
And the Potters Church haunted house at Iliili will again be open to everyone for the second night of Halloween haunting.
They’re will be haunting between 8 and 12 midnight and it’s all free.
